Asha Bhosle died last month at the age of 92. She was one of the most famous playback singers in Indian cinema, recording songs actors would lip-sync on screen. For people like me who grew up in India, and for South Asian communities everywhere, Bhosle's voice was instantly familiar. Today, we pay tribute to this giant of Indian music.
