When aliens misinterpret video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war, they attack the Earth using the games as models for their various assaults. The president decides to seek help from an old friend, who had also been romantically involved with his wife in the past, and who happens to be a former 1980s video game champion, by assigning him to lead a team of old-school arcaders to defeat the aliens.
