Bartleby Gaines is rejected by eight different universities when he attempts to apply, which upsets his parents and girlfriend. He finds out that several of his classmates are facing the same problem, and decides to open his own college, The South Harmon Institute of Technology. Hundreds of applications are received, but an automatic response to the applicants leads to chaos.
