Detective Jack Mosley, who is an alcoholic, is assigned a last minute mission after a hard day's work. The mission is to escort a witness 16 blocks from the police station to the courthouse, but he discovers that several people want the witness dead, and Jack is faced with an unlikely situation where he has to choose between his duty and his loyalty to his police officer colleagues.
